If you don’t have industrial strength eye make up remover, it will work it just may take some time. Smashbox’s It A Wrap, MAC’s Cleansing oil and my favourite, Estee Lauder’s Take It Away does a great job. Note: Use a high quality eye make up remover to take this off. ![]() The Smashbox 15-hour limitless cream eye shadow is on par with the MAC paint pots, but the edge MAC has over Smashbox is the larger shade selection.īuy this if you love cream eyeshadows and playing around with texture. None of the paint pots I’ve owned dried up, but I place a piece of foil over the product in the jar to trap the moisture in. A tip I’ve heard of is popping them into the microwave to get them back to their normal texture. Something to note: If these paint pots are not stored correctly, with the rubber lid screwed tight on the glass jar, they will dry up. I gave it 90% because it’s so difficult to get shades and because weak colour pay-off and staying power of the frosted shades. The frosty shades don’t wear as well and some are very sheer. I’d give a staying power of 8 hours, no fading or creasing. I find the matte and metallic paint pots insanely pigmented and very longwearing. It will not jump, even if it wins the Powerball! If you open your eyes and the product settles in lines then it will stay that way. The trick with these paint pots is to apply them evenly, blend it out, close your eyes for 30 seconds at least and let it dry to a smooth, finish. Some people have complained of creasing, I’ve never experienced that. These colours blend easily with their buttery texture, but really do dry fast and furiously. But I usually stick to Groundwork if I want to wear just one eye shadow on a lazy day. I can wear all three alone or all together. I called all the stores with no success and they are always sold out online.Īt the moment, I have 2 matte shades Groundwork and Soft Ochre, which I use as both eye shadow bases or on their own and Frozen Violet, which has a metallic finish and makes a great base for a smoky eye. I hit the jackpot last week when I got the last Soft Ochre in the Edgars Sandton store. ![]() Painterly, Bare Study and Soft Ochre seem to be bestsellers. Rubenesque (Golden peach with gold pearl)Ĭonstructivist (Metallic brown with red pearl) On my last check of MAC’s website, the shades in their permanent collection were:īlackground (Black grey with multi colour) To date, 26 paint pots were released, some limited edition. Cream-based, can be mixed with MAC shadows and liners.ĭoes it live up to its claims, 100. ![]() Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. This is what MAC claim about its paint pots: A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish.
